west elm thanks + giving pop up

Thursday, December 4, 2014

back in march of this year, i had the opportunity to sell for a day at west elm during a west elm + etsy pop up shop and it's happening again!

this time, it's called the thanks + giving pop up shop and it helps to benefit the st. jude children's hospital. if you're a charlotte local and are free on saturday from 4-8pm, head down to west elm for live music, local vendors and holiday treats. it's going to be great.

see you there!

teepee meetings.

Monday, May 26, 2014

we have spent most of our holiday weekend trying to get rid of a cold/fever/pink eye combo. real glamorous. we have now watched "enchanted" about 54,000,000 times through, which is at least 52,000,00 times too many.
so while my children both nap for the first time in years (the one silver lining to being sick in our house), i've spent time looking through old photos.
it wasn't until i was talking last night with jared that i remembered the first time we really hung out was while he was building this...

yeah, a teepee. we went to art school, guys. meeting while building a teepee comes with the territory.

so, really, it just seems like i have taken on the teepee mantle for our family.

although, less in a dorm parking lots with a bunch of art students and more in a scattered kitchen with a few wild toddlers.

love notes

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

"Dear mama, Mama I love you. I wish I was back at New Horizons. It's so much nicer. You can't get detentions. I miss Mrs. Case, Mrs. Wilson, and Mrs. Mclhaughlin. I love you more than anything. Maybe we can to to the movie Ever After. Love ya more than words can say. Love, Rere."

my mom and i had a journal that we passed back and forth at nights for most of the end of elementary school and middle school. i would ask her questions about make up or friends or i'd just write and say sorry for having a bad attitude all day. and without fail, she'd write me back and leave it waiting on my pillow before i went to bed. what a mom. she gave them all to me and reading over them is so sweet and funny (i wish i could show you all the times i asked her about white eyeshadow.)

the little heart note pillows that are in the littlekind shop came from the idea of my mom and i writing notes to each other. a way to continue on that tradition and make our beds look cute at the same time ;)

you can find the pillows here: http://etsy.me/1fZQFNw

snapshots from the etsy + west elm pop up shop

Wednesday, April 2, 2014

this past weekend was the etsy + west elm pop up shop that i was invited to be apart of. i just wanted to share a few quick snapshots of the day (and the days leading up to it.)

jared was out of town for the week leading up to it, so getting thing done with two toddlers and little alone time was a bit challenging. the girls were troopers, though, and spent a lot of time watching frozen ;)

my set up for the day.

overall, it was a really great day. feeling really thankful for great friends and great opportunities

charlotte west elm + etsy pop up shop
guys! it's an exciting week around here.
a week from today, march 29th to be exact, littlekind and seven other etsy sellers will be apart of a pop up shop at west elm. i am really excited (and a little nervous) to be a part. it's going to be a really great day.

in other related news, we're slowly but surely finishing our 2013 summer project. oh, it's almost a year later? whoops.
we've learned a lot through the almost year long DIY demo of a room. one of the main things being, if you don't own a drill and you don't have a plan, you probably shouldn't tear up the floors and strip painted wallpapered walls. but, nevertheless, we persevered and now have a (mostly) functioning office.

so, here's a little snapshot from our office's inaugural day:

exciting things are ahead!

and if you're in the charlotte area and want to come to the pop up shop, you can get more info here.
